Welcome to Charlottenlund Fort Camping.

With our unique location in an old fort surrounded by a water-filled moat, our campsite is perfectly located for a visit to Copenhagen, perhaps interrupted by a refreshing dip in Øresund or a trip to Dyrehavsbakken.

Our physical setting makes camping here a little special compared to other campsites and requires a little more attention in choosing the right place when booking and placing your unit in your place when you arrive. If you arrive in a different size / type of unit than booked in our online booking, we can not guarantee a place. Therefore, please read the information below and pay special attention to our fire regulations.

Arrival:

You will receive a passnumber which will be used for all access and bathing / service facilities. Remember to state a telephone number and email that you have access to during your stay.

On arrival you drive directly to the bollards before the bridge to the fort (just after the large car park and to the left of the white round icecream shop). Here you enter the provided passnumber and when the green light is on, the bollards have lowered. Please drive slowly to your allocated pitch.

Pitch no. is painted on a white stone in the middle of the square facing the asphalt road / path. White stones without number mark the boundary to the neighboring square. If necessary, see the place card in the booking confirmation for guidance.

Important:
The fire authorities require 3 meters between the units, ie. 1.5 meters to the boundary (the white boundary stones). The fire authorities regularly monitor and the responsibility for the correct distance to the boundary is yours. The fire department may charge you a substantial fee for non-compliance with distance requirements. You can not be expected to set up several tents in the same place and several tents in the same place will be invoiced. If the distance requirement is exceeded, you will be asked to take it down.

Due to the distance requirement, you can also not expect that large awnings can be set up on all pitches, as on other campsites. 

For information, the camp site is video-monitored with exception of baths / toilets. Copenhagen is a very safe city and we therefore experience very few thefts (approx. less than 1 per year), but still do not tempt weak souls with low morale.

If you have any questions, our camping office is in Den Lille Butik, where we also sell breakfast bread and coffee. For competition reasons, we unfortunately do not sell coffee takeaway.

In our self-service stands at Den Lille Butik, you can also extend your stay by making a new booking. Our booking stands and online booking are always updated with all available pitches and the outdoor self-service stand is open 24/7.

During the low season, Den Lille Butik is open from kl. 08: 00-16:00 and in the high season from kl. 07.00-18.00.

Practical information:

During the stay:

Shower: See current price at the campsite. Invoiced automatically when entering the password in the bath.
Electricity: See current price at the campsite. Consumption is registred and settled automatically on departure.

Make sure that you plug your cable into the correct power supply with your pitch number. Note that heaters / underfloor heating / aircon can use surprisingly much power. We experience a number of customers who gets surprised over the bill, especially in the cold outer seasons.

All consumption is invoiced approx. at 12.15-12.30 on the day of departure on the payment card used for the booking.

Free WIFI: camping-ch, password: camping2920

Check-in after 12.30 pm and departure before kl. 12.00 / Noon. Departure after kl. 12.00 will be billed as an extra day.

We try to accommodate your requested pitch however, in few cases during the season, we may have to make last minute changes and assign individual customers a different pitch than original booked. We apologize in advance and hope for your understanding in that case.

Some practical info:

• If necessary, use the parking spaces on the left within the bollards.
• If the power turns off during the stay, please check the circuit breakers on the switchboard where the cable is connected. Furthermore, moisture in your extension cable or many energy-intensive appliances can also trigger the fuse at the same time.
• Toilets and kitchen facilities are located in the service building with entrance under the white sail. Access with the provided passnumber.
• Toilet tanks can be emptied into the drain marked with white paint in the space to the left of the service building. There is a hook hanging on the wall to lift the cover. Behind the green door marked with a motorhome sign, there is a water hose for drinking water, as well as a flushing hose. Furthermore, there are drains for chemical toilets. Please leave the area as you want to arrive.
• Glass bottle containers are located on the right side after the bridge at the exit from the fort. Please use them.

Moving between pitches (ie moving between two bookings)

If you have booked another night at another pitch number, you can move directly to the new place on the moving date, if this becomes available before 12.00. Feel free to talk to the existing resident so that no misunderstandings arise.

If you want to go on an excursion on the day of the move, you can park your unit at the small parking lot after the bridge on the right side before the bollards or on mainroad / parking lot (6 hours parking), go on an excursion and move your unit to the new pitch in the evening. Note that the passnumber is now the code from the booking confirmation for the new pitch.

Transport (use Google Maps to find your way around Copenhagen).

Copenhagen

If you want to visit Copenhagen by public transport, the bus stop can be found by going out of the fort, along the car park and 50 meters to the left on the opposite side of Strandvejen.

It is not possible to buy tickets on the bus. Therefore, download the app "DOT tickets" in advance, find the right bus line and buy a ticket through it. Alternatively via Travel Card / Rejsekort in Danish.

Taxi: For example via tel. (+45) 4x35 or via their app 4x35

Bicycle: Bring your own bicycles or use one of Copenhagen's shared bicycle schemes: For example via the Dunkey Republic app (orange bicycles). The road to Copenhagen: Turn left onto Strandvejen - the city starts just around the corner and is 7 km. to the center / Town Hall Square. Google Maps is your best guide. Electric bikes are in high demand in Copenhagen, so it can be an advantage to lock electric bikes to something bolted on.

S-Train Station Charlottenlund St. is found approx. 20 min. walk across the beautiful forest with Charlottenlund Castle on the opposite side of Strandvejen. Use Google Maps to find your way. Tickets for S-trains can be purchased through the DOT app or Rejsekort.

Practical advice / Purchasing / Inspiration

• On Jægersborgs Allé in Charlottenlund there are various supermarkets, butchers and shops. (To the right at the exit, first traffic light on the left, through the forest and straight on).
• On Strandvejen there are Spar Købmand, Irma and pizzerias (turn left at the exit from Charlottenlund Fort and after 250-500 meters it is there). Hellerup, a kilometer further towards the center of Copenhagen has shops for all budgets - from botox treatments to a bodega.
• If you have a dog that needs to run freely, Charlottenlund Slotshave on the opposite side of Strandvejen is an obvious option. Dogs must always be on a leash on the campsite area and on the beach areas in June, July and August.
• Dyrehaven in Klampenborg is worth a visit if you want to be relatively close to Scandinavian's large deer breeds. Dogs MUST be on a leash and the forester is consistent with stray dogs that bother the deer. It can be combined with a ride in the carousel on Dyrehavsbakken and a visit to Bellevue Strand or the Bellevue Theater, designed by Arne Jacobsen.
• Visit Copenhagen, www.visitcopenhagen.dk has exciting inspiration for experiences and sights in Copenhagen. We can recommend seeing Copenhagen from the sea side via a canal tour, where there are several providers.
• Restaurant Charlottenlund Fort with a breathtaking view of Øresund is perhaps the best located restaurant in the Kingdom of Denmark. The camp manager himself celebrates important anniversaries there.

Departure:

On the departure date you just drive out of the campsite before kl. 12.00 / Noon and continue your journey in beautiful Denmark. Note that departure after kl. 12.00 / Noon will be billed as an extra day.

• On Strandvejen there are Spar Købmand, Irma and pizzerias (turn left at the exit from Charlottenlund Fort and after 250-500 meters it is there). Hellerup, a kilometer further towards the center of Copenhagen has shops for all budgets - from botox treatments to a bodega.
• If you have a dog that needs to run freely, Charlottenlund Slotshave on the opposite side of Strandvejen is an obvious option. Dogs must always be on a leash on the campsite area and on the beach areas in June, July and August.
• Dyrehaven in Klampenborg is worth a visit if you want to be relatively close to Scandinavian's large deer breeds. Dogs MUST be on a leash and the forester is consistent with stray dogs that bother the deer. It can be combined with a ride in the carousel on Dyrehavsbakken and a visit to Bellevue Strand or the Bellevue Theater, designed by Arne Jacobsen.
• Visit Copenhagen, www.visitcopenhagen.dk has exciting inspiration for experiences and sights in Copenhagen. We can recommend seeing Copenhagen from the sea side via a canal tour, where there are several providers.

Our physical setting makes camping here a little special compared to other campsites and requires a little more attention in choosing the right place when booking and placing your unit in your place when you arrive. If you arrive in a different size / type of unit than booked in our online booking, we can not guarantee a place. Therefore, please read the information below and pay special attention to our fire regulations.

Arrival:

You will receive a passnumber which will be used for all access and bathing / service facilities. Remember to state a telephone number and email that you have access to during your stay.

On arrival you drive directly to the bollards before the bridge to the fort (just after the large car park and to the left of the white round icecream shop). Here you enter the provided passnumber and when the green light is on, the bollards have lowered. Please drive slowly to your allocated pitch.

Pitch no. is painted on a white stone in the middle of the square facing the asphalt road / path. White stones without number mark the boundary to the neighboring square. If necessary, see the place card in the booking confirmation for guidance.

Important:
The fire authorities require 3 meters between the units, ie. 1.5 meters to the boundary (the white boundary stones). The fire authorities regularly monitor and the responsibility for the correct distance to the boundary is yours. The fire department may charge you a substantial fee for non-compliance with distance requirements. You can not be expected to set up several tents in the same place and several tents in the same place will be invoiced. If the distance requirement is exceeded, you will be asked to take it down.

Due to the distance requirement, you can also not expect that large awnings can be set up on all pitches, as on other campsites. 

For information, the camp site is video-monitored with exception of baths / toilets. Copenhagen is a very safe city and we therefore experience very few thefts (approx. less than 1 per year), but still do not tempt weak souls with low morale.

If you have any questions, our camping office is in Den Lille Butik, where we also sell breakfast bread and coffee. For competition reasons, we unfortunately do not sell coffee takeaway.

In our self-service stands at Den Lille Butik, you can also extend your stay by making a new booking. Our booking stands and online booking are always updated with all available pitches and the outdoor self-service stand is open 24/7.

During the low season, Den Lille Butik is open from kl. 08: 00-16:00 and in the high season from kl. 07.00-18.00.

Bicycle: Bring your own bicycles or use one of Copenhagen's shared bicycle schemes: For example via the Dunkey Republic app (orange bicycles). The road to Copenhagen: Turn left onto Strandvejen - the city starts just around the corner and is 7 km. to the center / Town Hall Square. Google Maps is your best guide. Electric bikes are in high demand in Copenhagen, so it can be an advantage to lock electric bikes to something bolted on.

S-Train Station Charlottenlund St. is found approx. 20 min. walk across the beautiful forest with Charlottenlund Castle on the opposite side of Strandvejen. Use Google Maps to find your way. Tickets for S-trains can be purchased through the DOT app or Rejsekort.

Practical advice / Purchasing / Inspiration

• On Jægersborgs Allé in Charlottenlund there are various supermarkets, butchers and shops. (To the right at the exit, first traffic light on the left, through the forest and straight on).
• On Strandvejen there are Spar Købmand, Irma and pizzerias (turn left at the exit from Charlottenlund Fort and after 250-500 meters it is there). Hellerup, a kilometer further towards the center of Copenhagen has shops for all budgets - from botox treatments to a bodega.
• If you have a dog that needs to run freely, Charlottenlund Slotshave on the opposite side of Strandvejen is an obvious option. Dogs must always be on a leash on the campsite area and on the beach areas in June, July and August.
• Dyrehaven in Klampenborg is worth a visit if you want to be relatively close to Scandinavian's large deer breeds. Dogs MUST be on a leash and the forester is consistent with stray dogs that bother the deer. It can be combined with a ride in the carousel on Dyrehavsbakken and a visit to Bellevue Strand or the Bellevue Theater, designed by Arne Jacobsen.
• Visit Copenhagen, www.visitcopenhagen.dk has exciting inspiration for experiences and sights in Copenhagen. We can recommend seeing Copenhagen from the sea side via a canal tour, where there are several providers.
• Restaurant Charlottenlund Fort with a breathtaking view of Øresund is perhaps the best located restaurant in the Kingdom of Denmark. The camp manager himself celebrates important anniversaries there.

Departure:

On the departure date you just drive out of the campsite before kl. 12.00 / Noon and continue your journey in beautiful Denmark. Note that departure after kl. 12.00 / Noon will be billed as an extra day.

All consumption is automatically invoiced approx. at 12.15 on the day of departure on the payment card used for the online booking. If in doubt about your consumption, our system has registered your exact consumption day by day - please send an email with the booking number, and we will return an overview.
